Business Adminstration Instructors

Teaches Business Administration courses in a two-year college that lead to associate degrees or occupational certificates. Trains students for employment by developing skills in Business Administration.

1.Conducts classroom and lab activities according to program requirements to ensure students are encouraged and assisted in developing personally and professionally.
•Responsive to changing business trends
•Provides innovative delivery of instruction
•Uses newer instructional methods
•Deals effectively with a divers range of learners

2.Develops and maintains positive relationships with students in order to monitor and resolve students concerns and provide quality services which will minimize attrition in all classes as prescribed by college policy.
•Make time for students outside of classroom to address concerns
•Advises students on assignment completion
•Directs students to appropriate resources to solve personal issues
•Encourages students to seek instructors assistance in all areas

3.Participates in Campus and Community activities and meetings in order to stay informed of current private and political events that will foster professional growth and enhance the College’s image.
•Visit local business
•Read current professions periodicals
•Attend job-related seminars and workshops
•Maintain memberships in professional organizations

4.Tracks and reports grades and attendance to ensure timely and accurate information for required record keeping according to regulations.
•Prepares and submits weekly lesson plans that accomplish the course objectives
•Maintain consistency in student grading and evaluation process

5.Develops course syllabus and recommends teaching materials, including textbooks, in order to ensure quality education pertinent to program requirements and state regulations.
•Recognize and address differences in learning abilities of individual students
•Develops and implements a variety of learning techniques
•Assist in the process of course evaluations, textbook selection and curricula development

6.Assists in securing community leaders, knowledgeable professionals and employees to serve on the Advisory Board of academic programs in order to create and maintain a positive and visible leadership image.
•Attend meetings as required
•Attend commencement exercises
•Attend related school functions as directed by the Campus Director or Director of Education

7.Title IV Refunds: Records, tracks and resolves situations that result in student absences from class.

Duties:
•Takes attendance and records attendance in CampusVUE within first 20 minutes of beginning of class.
•Checks email before each class meeting for messages of student absences and enters information into Contact Manager section of the CampusVUE software system.
•Calls students during the same class period’s absence in order to assist them in attending that class.
•Provides each student that is absent from a class with the topics covered that class period, assignments that were given and offers and assists in preventing future class absences.
•Reports daily student absences to the Director of Education.
•Maintains knowledge of College Catalogs’ policies and forwards needs for change(s) to the Academic Coordinator.

•Enters communications with students into Contact Manager section of the CampusVUE software system.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: A degree is prefered, If the degree is not in the assigned teaching field for business, at least 3 years related work experience or evidence of specialized training or competency in the assigned teaching field is required.

Experience: Relevant and related practical work experience in field of teaching. Experience working with students in an academic setting preferred.

Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communications skills including a professionally poised telephone presence. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail. Computer and software skills.
