Bilingual School based Therapist

A fantastic position for a caring Bilingual MA level therapist working with our School Based team, this position provides therapy to children/families in an outpatient and public school setting. Conducts home visits as appropriate for treatment and consultative purposes.

Provides direct treatment services to children and families, case management, and consultation to school staff. Strong knowledge of family systems therapy and ability to work in a brief solution focused manner.

Since 1957, Community REACH CENTER, a 501[c][3] non-profit organization, has been the primary provider of mental healthcare services to low-income families and individuals in Adams County, Colorado. From preschool through retirement age, in classrooms, homes and employment settings, our clients receive personalized mental health therapies, counseling and solutions to individual and family problems. Community REACH CENTER has served more than 115,000 children, adolescents, adults and seniors with award-winning programs at facilities in Brighton, Commerce City, Northglenn, Thornton and Westminster. Each year, Community REACH CENTER serves approximately 5,200 unduplicated clients. The School-Based Therapy program is a highly effective outreach service in which Community REACH CENTER therapists work with children and their families directly in the child’s school. In this collaborative effort, mental health services including assessment, consultation, and individual, group, and family therapies are conducted in 24 cooperating Adams County schools and the School-Based Health Center in Westminster District 50. Students are jointly identified by the center and school staffs, or may self-refer. In addition to these services, group therapy is available by request in any Adams County school, and psychoeducational services are offered as needed.

REQUIREMENTS
Required:
MSW or Masters in related field.
Experience working with children and families.
Bilingual-Spanish

Preferred:
School experience and License.

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
Understanding of family systems theory.
Familiarity with DSM-IV and the ability to assess psychological disorders.
Ability to conduct individual, family and group therapy sessions.

Working Environment/Physical Activities:
Public school and office environment. Includes sitting, standing, and walking daily. May include running after or restraining students. Long periods of time spent writing and telephone usage. Field trips with students can include Water World, horseback riding, ropes courses, river rafting, hiking, rock climbing, and other physically demanding activities.
