Bilingual Head Start Parent-Child Educator

Home Based Head Start is a comprehensive child and family development program which serves children ages 3-5 and their families.

The Parent-Child Educator is responsible for the implementation and documentation of all the Head Start service areas of child development, social services, health, disabilities, and parent involvement for a caseload of 11 children ages 3-5 and their families through 90-minute weekly home visits. The PCE also facilitates two group socialization experiences for children and families monthly in a preschool classroom setting or on a field trip. Must use personal vehicle to transport children and parents when needed.

This position is 40 hours per week, 9 months per year with good pay and benefits.

This position serves families living in Villa Park, Lombard, Itasca and Wood Dale.
REQUIREMENTS
Bilingual Head Start Parent-Child Educator Requirements:
Must be fully bilingual in Spanish and English.
Bachelors degree strongly preferred, or Associates degree, in Social Service, Early Childhood or a related field.
Must have a valid drivers license, automobile insurance, and a car available at all times.
Must be able to work with parents and children.
Working knowledge of early childhood development.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to provide parent education workshops and assist parents in attaining personal and professional goals.
Demonstrated understanding and capacity to work with individuals of diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, religions, disabilities and ages.
