Behavioral Specialist

The Behavioral Specialist must be able to perform the following job duties:

*Develops and collects data operationally define targeted behaviors and develops observable and measurable goals.
*Develops individualized behavior management treatment plans (and addendum's when necessary) and monitors the implementation of the plan.
*Maintains progress notes for every contact and submits to payroll by the fifth day of the month every month. Completes concurrent reviews as required.
*Provides clinical consultation to the therapeutic support staff and ensures appropriate implementation of the treatment plan.
*Meets with the individual, family, supports coordinator, residential staff, teachers, and other treatment team members as required.
*Oversees termination of services in collaboration with treatment team and provides a closing summary.
*Attends at least 10 hours of professional training in areas such as behavior management, developmental disabilities, psychotropic medication or related fields.
*Training during first year of employment to include a least four hours in relevant Mental Retardation Services policies and procedures including the Philadelphia Mental Retardation Services Behavior Interventions Policy, policy regarding reporting of unusual incidents and the Behavioral Health: 90 day Team review of Psychotropic medication form, positive approaches, conducting a functional assessment and data collection.

REQUIREMENTS
**Graduate Degree in Psychology or a related field such as Counseling, Special Education, Social Work, etc.
**A minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals who have MR.
**Documented training in the behavior. modification techniques.
**Valid driver's license

**Currently or formerly employed or under contract as a Behavior Consultant.
