Associate Editor, Social Sciences

Encyclopaedia Britannica has an opening for an experienced editor with European/Latin American history and/or geography expertise to work on the Encyclopaedia Britannica database. Responsibilities will include:
• Commissioning and editing articles related to one of the subject areas.
• Coordinating fact-checking with research editors;
• Working with media and map editors.

REQUIREMENTS
This position requires:
• A proven ability to edit for general readers and attention to detail
• Outstanding writing and organizational skills, productivity, and the capacity to work in a team environment,
• An MA or PhD in the subject area is desirable, but significant editorial experience in the area can be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.
• Proficiency in Spanish and/or French is desirable.
