Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital is a 120-bed hospital in Wheaton, Illinois, that is dedicated to the delivery of rehabilitative medicine. Sponsored by the Wheaton Franciscan Sisters, Wheaton Franciscan Services, Inc. owns and operates more than 100 health and shelter service organizations in Colorado, Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin.Marianjoy announces the addition of an Admissions RN to our Nursing team. In this role the Admissions Nurse collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure a smooth transition of care for new patients.The Admissions Nurse is responsible for the complete nursing process which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, teaching, evaluation and documentation of patient care during a patient's admission through discharge. You will integrate the contributions of the interdisciplinary team to assure that the best possible outcomes are achieved. The admissions nurse will also supervise and maintain a professional relationship with all unlicensed assistive personnel.Specific Responsibilities:
The Admissions Nurse works closely with the Nurse Admission Coordinator and/or Nursing Supervisor regarding daily admissions and scheduled arrival times and to receive patient assignments. You must communicate effectively with the patient and the caregiver in reviewing the orientation and rehabilitation process.Additionally, the Admissions Nurse will interview the patient and/or caregiver, review medical records and transfer orders to collect admission information for documentation, health maintenance, and the nursing plan of care. REQUIREMENTS
Education:
A nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing is required along with a current license to practice nursing in the state of Illinois.Experience:
Previous rehabilitation nursing work experience is preferred.Knowledge:
Analytical skills necessary to assess a patient’s condition and utilize the nursing process and professional judgement in providing comprehensive patient care are required. Current CPR certification is required.
