Administrator / Director of Nursing

The Administrator / Director of Nursing is responsible for all clinical and fiscal operations. Inpatient services include orthopedic rehabilitation, hand rehabilitation, burn care rehabilitation, lymphedema management, amputee rehabilitation, multi-trauma rehabilitation, burn care, brain injury rehabilitation, pain rehabilitation, case management and stroke rehabilitation. The Administrator / Director of Nursing is responsible for managing a budget of $15.4 million. There is a total of 145 FTE’s at the Hospital in Allentown.
REQUIREMENTS
The Administrator / Director of Nursing of the Rehabilitation Hospital reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Inpatient Clinical Operations. Reporting directly to this position is a Manager of Therapy and two Nurse Managers.•Identified Patient Service Requirements: By establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.•Leads Patient Care Services: By identifying markets; establishing standards; developing collaboration among medical, nursing, and administrative staffs.•Operationalizes the Mission and Vision of The Hospital: By working collaboratively with the medical staff, therapy services and corporate services to meet patient need and fulfill the organization’s mission; by seeking and implementing best practices; by utilizing the performance improvement process to enhance care; by developing and implementing process to improve patient satisfaction.•Manages Nurse and Therapy Staffing: By benchmarking staffing patterns; by researching successful models of care, and by monitoring the adherence to the nurse and therapy practice acts.•Manages Fiscal Operations: By leading preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets, analyzing budget variances and initiating corrective action plans.•Maintains Buildings and Equipment: By planning and controlling space allocations, building additions, and major equipment acquisitions; overseeing maintenance programs.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Five years progressive management experience in a Rehab setting. Prefer a seasoned Director of Nursing who held the number one or two administrative position in a post acute care environment.
EDUCATION:Masters degree in Nursing, Business or Healthcare related field. Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CPRN) required. Current license to practice nursing in the State of Pennsylvania.
