ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF GRADUATE ADMISSIONS

The Graduate Study Department at Oakland University is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions. This position will manage daily operations of the graduate admissions office ensuring the timely and accurate processing of inquiry fulfillment and applications for admission with strong emphasis on customer service delivery; provide training and documented procedures to staff to ensure data integrity; and provide guidance to prospective students on graduate program offerings as well as the graduate application process with the ultimate goal of maximizing graduate student enrollment at Oakland University.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience; two or more years of professional experience in higher education admissions and enrollment services or equivalent; demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the integrated function of recruitment, admissions and enrollment conversion; demonstrated ability to manage and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments; advanced knowledge of online student enterprise systems and data management techniques; demonstrated experience of databases and ability to extract and integrate data, compile information, and prepare reports; demonstrated ability to make independent judgments and decisions to manage daily operation, to include documenting guidelines and procedures; strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies; demonstrated experience in the recruitment of prospective students, to include planning and representing institution at events; knowledge of the rules, regulations, and laws regarding student records; excellent organizational and analytical skill; excellent oral and written communication skills; and the ability to communicate effectively with others.

Desired qualifications: Master's Degree; banner experience; experience in graduate admissions and enrollment services; knowledge of adult learner services, principles and practices; and knowledge of web recruitment and admission services and maintenance.

Salary is up to the mid 40’s with excellent benefits. Compensation is commensurate with education and experience.
