ADULT DAY PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR

Under the general supervision of the ACIT/ATP Supervisor or Transition and Adult Services Director, will plan, organize, implement and coordinate the individual consumer programs. Will also assess individual consumer progress in accordance with ISP’s and will keep accurate records of such.

Provides direct instruction on-site and in the community, utilizing ALMANSOR vehicles and public transportation to effectively carry out this responsibility.

Plans daily curriculum and training activities to address individual goals and objectives.

Monitors and assesses individual consumer progress and collects and reports data to the ACIT/ATP Supervisor as requested and in keeping with reporting periods.

Supports ACIT Consumers with personal and emotional growth using the departmental standards and policies and in adherence with the departments Behavior Management Plan.

Writes up all communication and incident reports in an acceptable and timely manner

Assists and supports the ACIT/ATP Supervisor and the Adult Services Director, in carrying out his/her responsibilities.

Training and Research

Maintains expertise in subject matter by continuing research and participation in scheduled staff trainings.

B.A. degree preferred, but an individual can be currently enrolled in a training program at college or university level, or have more than 3 years experience and evidence of job related training.

Must pass basic education proficiency exam by at least 75%.

Driving is required and must have a valid California Driver’s License.

Must own a vehicle and possess proof of insurance.

A current background check through the FBI, DOJ and Community Care Licensing must be submitted. A current TB Test (within last 4 years), CPR/First Aid, health clearance required.

Must be able to participate and complete mandatory Professional Assault Response Training (PART) and be able to utilize all aspects of this training within an instructional setting when necessary.

Must be willing to participation in transportation training sessions.

Must hold valid CPR and First Aid training certificate.

The Day Program Instructor will work with adults with MRDD both on site and in the community. The ideal candidate will provide vocational training, teach life sills, money management, computer skills, and domestic sills. 9 adults in the group.
