JOB TITLE: Van Loader

REPORTS TO:Shift Supervisor

FUNCTION:To scan, manifest, load and unload customer shipments on trailers using all possible solutions to assure the safe transport and delivery of customer shipments. To perform the physical labor that is required for the general handling and data collection of all shipments passing through the Homedirect USA National Consolidation Center. Operate in a safe and responsible manner propane powered sit down forklifts and battery operated reach trucks while performing your daily duties.





RESPONSIBILITIES:


•Check schedule posting to confirm work schedule.
•Arrive to work early enough to begin working promptly at your scheduled start time.
•Have on your person your forklift certifications card.
•Operate forklift and or reach truck
•Process bill of lading and cross check inventory.
•Manifest and or check inbound and outbound trailers.
•Transport with lift and or dolly shipments to and from storage locations.
•Unload and load shipments on trailers for transportation to and from the Consolidation Center.
•Utilize available equipment to assure the safe transport of shipments
•Perform warehouse inventory procedures.
•Follow facility safety rules.
•Operate hand held electronic data capturing devices and related tracking software.
•Perform general facility clean up and maintenance.
•Perform other duties as related.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements
Skills and experience required to
perform the job successfully
1 year verifiable HHGexperience.
Six months forklift, reach truck and general warehouse experience.
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
Ability to use barcode scanning equipment and shipment tracking software.
Use hand held pallet jack, 4 wheel dollies, 2 wheel dollies, straps, decking bars, plywood, furniture pads, dock levelers, load and unload trailers, operate hand tools.
Ability to write legible, read materials then apply content, independently complete tasks, communicate to proved or obtain information.



Preferred at hire
Skills and experience not required but would help in performing the job successfully.
2 years + HHG experience, +
1+ years’ forklift and general warehouse experience.
1 + years’ Previous barcode scanning and tracking software experience.
Current fork lift certification card.



Must Obtain
Skills and experience not required upon hire, but must obtain within a set time period to perform the job successfully.
BWS Forklift certification first week of hire.
