Receiving Manager

Objective
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of receiving including efficiency, accuracy and all operational functions in the receiving department. Requires strong leadership skills to train, supervise and lead associates.

Primary Job Functions
Receiving
? Oversee the SOP of receiving standards.
? Accountable for maximizing CPU measurements and cycle time.
? Review and address productivity results with staff promptly.
? Walk the floor regularly to manage the floor for daily “on duty” responsibilities.
? Communicate with associates regarding pertinent information for daily, event or seasonal business issues.
? Report any potential safety issues and any asset protection issues as needed.
? Maintain Company dress code for all associates in area.
? Ensure safety is promoted and achieved.
? Partner with HR to ensure associate relation issues are handled in a timely manner.

Training and Developing Staff
? Recruits, interviews and involved in final selection of all department associates.
? Create new hire’s training schedule; follows Training Checklist with all new hires in department.
? Train associates on receiving, customer service, operations, safety and asset protection.
? Ensure Leads are trained to execute all responsibilities listed for a Manager, Receiving.
? Complete yearly performance evaluations for department associates; make promotional and merit increase recommendations based on performance.
? Address any employee complaints, grievances and questions as they arise.
? Maintain associate records.

Operations Management
? Schedule staff efficiently to maximize CPU measurements and cycle times & make adjustments to schedule, as business needs dictate.
? Work to maximize efficiency of all departments in the facility.
? Ensure safety is promoted and achieved.
? Execute disciplinary procedures fairly and document corrective action properly.
? Set goals and conduct regular department meetings to review CPU and cycle time goals and targets.
? Responsible for other duties as assigned or developed.

Reporting Structure
? The Lead, Receiving will report directly to the Manager, Receiving.
? The Associate and Sr. Associate, Receiving will report directly to the Lead Receiving.
REQUIREMENTS
Prerequisite skills/experience for this position
? Excellent communication and leadership skills, and sound judgment.
? Must display leadership and teamwork skills.
? Detail oriented and strong attention to customer service.
? Computer skills a plus.
? College degree in business or logistics preferred.
? Prior experience managing people or proven ability to manage people.
? Complete understanding and facilitation of Standard Operating Procedures for Receiving area.
