Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer

In the Alabama Army National Guard, the Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer is a Soldier who performs maintenance on chemical equipment, quartermaster machinery, forced-air-heaters, and other special purpose equipment. The Guard depends upon equipment like this to carry on important day-to-day operations. As such, the Soldier responsible for overseeing the maintenance of this important equipment is a highly valued member of the Guard team.

The Alabama Army National Guard is an elite group of Citizen-Soldiers who dedicate a portion of their time to serving their nation. Guard members train part-time to be ready full-time, should their state or nation call them to serve.

Major Duties

Maintains (unit/direct and general support) and repairs electrical/fuel heater systems, pumps, erdulator-type/reverse osmosis water purification systems, decontamination systems, protective filter systems, smoke generator systems, laundry washer/extractor systems (mechanical), dryer/tumbler systems (mechanical), and quartermaster/chemical equipment electrical systemsMaintains internal combustion engine ignition/fuel/cooling/electrical systems. Performs battlefield damage assessment and repair
