Project Engineer

Position Summary:
Interact with customers and internal departments to meet customer requirements from RFQ through pre-launch phase to release to production.

Essential Job Functions:
Plan and manage product launch.
Quote stamping, assembly and molding products, including tooling, functional gages and packaging requirements
Facilitate feasibility and APQP activities utilizing cross-functional teams.
Develop type of tooling and process required to produce the product to customer requirements.
Upon receipt of order verify purchase order requirements with quote resolving any conflicts with customer.
Lead cross-functional teams from pre-launch to production phase.
Track and report on progress of launch projects, major tooling refirbs and any other projects to management team.
Assist Quality, Manufacturing, and tool room to resolve quality and production problems in a timely manner.
Perform other tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
Job Qualifications:
10 Years experience Stamping and Molding assembly processes.
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
Automotive Industry experience a must
Proficient in Tool design using CAD systems, Technical knowledge of plastic injection molding, metal stamping and related tooling.
Ability to read, understand and comprehend blueprints. (GD&T)
Ability to track projects and communicates effectively in technical terms with customers, suppliers, tool room and manufacturing.
Understand quoting techniques for Molding, Stamping and Welded assemblies.
APQP experience and ability to lead cross functional teams effectively.
Ability to track and report on projects in an effective and timely manner.
Must present professional image in dealing with customers.
Must apply good business ethics in dealing with customers.
Ability to be a team player working within the company and with the customer.
Must be a self-starter and work with little supervision.
Must have a current drivers license and be willing to travel overnight.
Air travel is sometimes required.
Must have physical abilities to climb stairs, drive a car and use phone.
