Efficient goods flow within an IKEA store is one of the key activities that ensures high sales, a high level of availability of goods for our customers and low costs. The goal of our Goods Receiving Co-workers is to accurately receive and process the goods when they arrive, and to ensure we have fully stocked sales spaces before the store opens. In this way, they contribute to a high service level, high sales and reduced handling through an efficient goods flow. The Goods Receiving Co-workers are part of the Logistics team and report to the Goods Flow Manager.Your Responsibilities:
Accurately monitor and document goods received on the receiving dock or sales floor.
Separate and distribute goods according to destination including overstock locations.
Ensure the commercial filling of goods in sales spaces using knowledge of flexible sales spaces and efficient merchandising techniques.
Utilize door to floor movement of goods thereby lowering costs through efficient goods handling.
Ensure efficient internal movements of goods in the store using a manual or motorised pallet jack.
Successfully complete material handling equipment certification training.
Utilize product knowledge and article information.
Adhere to inventory control procedures.
Maintain a clean, well-organized work area following waste management guidelines.
Use available resources to educate yourself on Goods Flow Concept and range information.
Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality which embraces the diversity of our Co-workers and customers.
Assume responsibility for projects and tasks as they occur.
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge:
