PACKAGING MANAGER COMPANY CONFIDENTIAL


RESPONSIBILITIES
*Develop performance objectives and complete performance evaluations of employees in the packaging department
*Supervise and manage the professional development of all direct reports and make staffing recommendations for the department
*Schedule and manage daily activities of manufacturing employees in the packaging department who set up, prepare and operate various types of specialized equipment used for packaging solid dosage generic drugs
*Ensure all packaging machine operators adhere to SOPs, equipment manuals, cGMPs, and train and develop new employees to ensure the success of the packaging department
*Maintain GMP equipment and packaging area as per current federal regulations
*Communicate and coordinate with Director of Manufacturing regarding manufacturing and packaging process and the workload
*Direct cleaning of the packaging area and packaging equipment
*Direct packaging personnel to prepare and set up equipment and materials for the manufacturing process
*Order supplies and manage returns of stock to warehouse for the packaging process
*Document manufacturing functions and evaluate variances in the production run at the end of each shift
*Calculate scrap at the end of each production run
*Work with Packaging Supervisors to make corrections and adjustments to processes to improve efficiency and quality of packaging department while minimizing waste and scrap and/or elevate issues to Director of Manufacturing as needed
*Provide root cause investigation and recommendation in implementing CAPA, assuring proper and timely corrective actions have been implemented

REQUIREMENTS
*Experience in GMP Pharmaceutical manufacturing a MUST
*Experience in pharmaceutical packaging REQUIRED
*Associates degree or equivalent related job experience in pharmaceutical industry required
*Knowledge of solid oral dosage related equipment
*2+ years as Packaging Supervisory/Management role
*Strong knowledge of cGMP and CTM principles
*Ability to maintain all safety, quality, GMP and FDA regulations
*Ability to work independently by gathering information and problem solving GMP issues in a manufacturing/packaging environment
*Ability to supervise team of operators working in the packaging department
*Ability to prioritize and schedule facility, equipment and personnel for multiple manufacturing operations in a short period of time
*Ability to train both new and existing employees on equipment usage and safety
*Experience in implementing process improvements and recommending cost saving concepts
*Ability to drive six sigma and lean manufacturing principles
