THE POSITION

Santa Cruz County is recruiting to fill two Principal Planner vacancies. The current management positions are in the Development Review Section and the Environmental Planning Section.

Some Principal Planner Job Duties are:
Plan, organize and direct the work of their section.Supervise, train and evaluate the work of a professional staff.Prepare and manage an annual budget.Make presentations to the County Board of Supervisors, County Commissions and other decision-making bodies.Coordinate between department sections, County departments and other agencies.
REQUIREMENTS
THE REQUIREMENTS

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying, unless otherwise specified. A typical way to obtain these would be:
Six years of work experience as a Planner or one year equivalent to an advanced senior level Planner, and demonstrated project leader and/or supervisory experience.

Special Requirement: Possession of a valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to provide suitable transportation approved by the appointing authority.
