Operations Manager - Coal Fired Utility Services, Barge Loading

Synthetic Materials (Synmat) is the largest processor of synthetic gypsum in North America with over 2.5 million tons per year under contract. We are experiencing a period of rapid growth with several new facilities being commissioned over the next 6 – 24 months.

Synmat has executed a contract with a Cincinnati area Coal Fired Power Generating Utility to provide Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services. The scope of our supply includes providing limestone barge unloading, limestone grinding (wet ball mills), gypsum dewatering, gypsum barge loading and waste water treatment.

Synmat is seeking qualified candidates to fill this new position of Operations Manager. This position will be located in or near Cincinnati Ohio. The primary function of this position will be to directly supervise all O&M activities under Synmat’s contract and coordinate communication the Utility during the commissioning and then operation of this Greenfield operation.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and be capable of managing both plant operations and maintenance. A minimum of 8 years Supervisory experience in industrial facility operations and maintenance (mechanical, electrical and controls) is required. The successful candidate must posses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be skilled in the use of computers.

In this position, you will required to work directly with Utility and Synmat personnel to resolve issues related to facility commissioning operations and maintenance. The Operations Manager will be expected resolve day to day issues independently and understand the technical details of each system for which Synmat is responsible.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualified applicants must have at minimum a BS in Engineering and be able to work well with both internal Synmat personnel and Utility and their contractors.
