Leadership and people skills are essential.Reporting to the warehouse management team, the dock foreman will supervise the receiving and shipping of refrigerated and frozen products from the beginning to end in a union environment. Assure compliance to all safety rules, policies and procedures. Coordinate that all reports and documents for shipping or receiving are accurate. Maintain the highest quality and sanitation standards. Exercise sound judgment in decision making during the course of business.Description:
•Supervise 30 + Teamster employees, including performance management
•Serve of customer, which requires precise accuracy and quality control in the receiving or shipping processes.
•Supervise and assist in all receiving or shipping functions from conception to completion
•Oversee the warehouse dock to insure accurate, safe and proper loading and unloading of trucks
•Ensure quality and On-Time Delivery unloading, shipping and delivery
•Ensure compliance of sanitation guidelines
•Perform audits to ensure quality of employee work
•Ensure all employees are in compliance with all company and safety policies
•Ensure compliance to all state and federal laws and regulations
•Assist with training of new hires and other training as needed
•Monitor and maintain a safe environment
•Take proactive measures to prevent warehouse losses
•Work with upper management to identify and prioritize projects
•Oversee that equipment is properly used
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:Candidates must have mandatory experience in the Food/Meat Warehouse Industry.
•Working knowledge of all receiving, order selection and shipping operations
•Role model professional conduct and strong leadership, while fostering a positive work environment
•Competent math skills
•Strong organizational skills and able to effectively handle multiple tasks at one time
•Able to work effectively under stress
•Identify waste and offer solid long-term solutions
•Effective interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with a diverse work group
•Strong verbal and written skills
•Effectively use Food Distribute software to research operational issues
•Ability to create a sense of urgency within the team and for yourself while maintaining a safe working environment
•Employee is expected to adhere to attendance guidelines
•Flexibility to work any shift as neededEducation and/or experience:•High school degree or equivalent required, college degree preferred
•2 + years warehouse supervisory experience required
•2 + years warehouse experience required
•Proficient computer skills preferred (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)) preferred
•Prior pallet jack, Hilo certification experience preferred
•Knowledge of barcode scanners is not required, but a plus
