Mechanical Engineer - Space Electronics Packaging

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced MECHANICAL ENGINEER at our Torrance, California location. In this position, you will be involved in the development of new technologies to support our Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier and Electric Propulsion product lines. You'll perform structural analysis of electronic power supplies for space applications subjected to vibration and shock, including both low- and high-voltage packaging elements. You will also interface with manufacturing area personnel and monitor thermal and vibration testing.
REQUIREMENTS
You should have at least 13 years of experience analyzing the packaging of electronic devices, with high-voltage design experience for space environments preferred. The ability to perform finite element analysis, including hand calculations for heat conduction and place and beam deflections, is needed. Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Familiarity with MIL-STD's and experience with one or more simulation tools such as ANSYS or MECHANICA are required. A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is needed, with a relevant master's degree desirable.
