Material Handler II

Summary:

The Material Handler II is responsible for receiving and shipping capital goods, spare parts, and miscellaneous orders.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Processes manufacturing orders and inventory transfers in order to meet or exceed the monthly shipment target

Pulls parts in accordance with job packages or order verifications, and tagging parts with item number, quantity, and description

Performs all actions to receive incoming goods and materials including verifying or identifying the materials, computer transactions, marking and repackaging to avoid storage/handling damage, and notifying other departments if their assistance is needed to inspect or resolve problems with materials

Performs shipping transactions in the Syteline system to generate shipping documentation including packing lists and shipping labels and distribute documentation to appropriate individuals

Packs orders, including labeling or marking each package, attaching packing lists to each packages, and weighing each package

Contacts carriers to arrange pickup of freight to meet customer shipping schedules

Loads freight

Maintains a sufficient supply of packaging materials to meet shipping demands

Delivers supplies and packages to office personnel as required and delivering parts to vendor locations as required

Performs counts to support the cycle count process

Monitors and maintains current inventory levels, track orders, and investigate problems

Stores materials in the proper inventory location

Maintains the warehouse and care area in accordance with Severn Trent housekeeping policy

Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:

Forklift license
Valid driver’s license
MSDS handling certification preferred
APICS certification preferred
Ability to use small hand tools
Ability to operate pallet jacks and panel trucks
Computer skills – MRP/ERP, MS office applications
Good organizational and multi-tasking skills

Education and /or Experience:

High school diploma and 2-3 years related experience or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
