Material Handler (Gulfport Ms)

The Material Handler I is an experienced position at the depot warehouse. This position takes direction from the facility manager. This position is responsible for various material handling activities at the depot which may include: unloading semis, loading route trucks, double counting, cycle counting, and fueling route trucks in accordance with Schwan’s Good Warehouse Practices.

The basic responsibilities are as follows:
• To ensure product is handled in accordance to established standards
• Handling of product to load route trucks
• Straightening/Organizing of product on route trucks when they return to the depot
• Inventory Control responsibilities which could include: double counting, cycle counts, semi counts, month-end inventories.
• Fueling of route trucks
• Ensure an appropriate level of housekeeping
• Comply to company safety rules and practices
• Comply to all state and federal vehicle operations regulations
SCOPE
Works with other warehouse team members to accomplish efficient flow of materials.

REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School diploma, GED or equivalent

Work Experience: Minimum of 6 months related experience.

Technical Competencies: Must have basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Professional Competencies: Willing to be flexible with work schedule as dictated by business needs.

Physical requirements:
Must be able to perform essential duties.
