Material Handler

Purpose: Aerotek is now seeking a Material Handler.

Responsible for performing the physical/administrative tasks of shipping, receiving, and inspection. Also, stores and distributes materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Unpacks and checks goods received against various documents. Prepares materials to be shipped to customers and other entities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Receives incoming shipments, unpacks, checks goods received against purchase orders and returned goods authorizations.
Perform incoming inspection, verifying part numbers and quantities; approving ?off-the-shelf?, internal part numbers for release to production, rejecting unsatisfactory items as necessary.
Moving materials/equipment/supplies to designated locations such as the production floor, stores or for shipping readiness.
Notifies individuals of receipts when appropriate.
Maintain Incoming Materials Log, distributing copies to various locations on a daily basis.
Prepares materials/goods for shipment, assisting in preparation or maintenance of shipping logs, documentation and contacting carriers.
Works on special projects as directed.
