MISSION DELIVERY MANAGER (HEALTH EDUCATOR)- Norfolk,VA

**The American Cancer Society seeks an energetic Mission Delivery Manager(Health Educator) for the Norfolk, VA office. This position will serve South Hampton Roads.**
Manages and implements multiple Mission Delivery programs in the assigned community to meet and exceed community mission goals. Establishes, cultivates and manages key relationships with corporations, community and individuals for successful and ongoing program management that furthers the work and mission of the American Cancer Society. Recruits, develops, retains and recognizes volunteers to support all mission delivery activities Provides in-depth training and on-going direction to volunteers. Actively participates and develops business plans for successful implementation of programs. Actively involved in the assessment of community cancer gaps and ensures that a comprehensive, market-based community assessment profile is developed for assigned community. Acts in an advisor role for various constituents and focuses on meeting their underlying needs. Accurately and effectively represents the Society and its mission. Acts in the best interest of the organization and enhances the image of the American Cancer Society in the public eye. Leads assigned committees, events and supports community volunteers as assigned. Assertively promotes the American Cancer Society to community members, potential donors, and business partners. Networks both inside and outside the American Cancer Society to build strategic alliances and long term relationships with key constituents, key community leaders and key organizations. Ensure the successful integration of Mission Delivery and Income activities, particularly special events in assigned community. Recruit volunteers and teams to participate at events. Seeks and identifies new sources of programs at community worksites and key organizations. Establishes and/or utilizes specific measures of desired outcomes to assess organizational and regional performance. Keeps appropriate program and volunteer records. Acts as a catalyst for change and encourages and supports others in their change efforts. Makes business based decisions; maintains accurate files, submits timely and accurate reports; meets timelines, follows through; apprises supervisor of status; provides viable & innovative solutions to problems; attends meetings/trainings, adheres to approved policy/procedure, represents the organization in a professional manner; makes effective presentations. Proactively and assertively addresses issues as they arise. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree and 1 year related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required. Other Desirable Qualifications: Successful experience working in the areas of community organization, volunteer management, and mission delivery program work preferred. Experience and/or education in health, public health, health care, social services or education.
