Logistics Specialist

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for overseeing the shipping and receipt of equipment for offsite mobile offices, disaster recovery test sites and disaster areas in support of Agility’s clients and customers while maintaining records of transportation costs and activity.

In addition to this oversight, the Logistics Specialist is responsible for the following:

• Providing logistics support to customers throughout North America during a disaster declaration.
• Managing the complete accountability of equipment for tests and disasters and assisting with the de-configuration, base configuration and return to bin inventory of test equipment.
• Enforcing Agility Recovery’s standards and procedures to ensure accuracy and security of inventory.
• Maintaining regular accountability of equipment shipped, preparing the appropriate transportation and customs documentation, and having the ability to confront and resolve all shipping issues in a timely manner.
• Communicating effectively with consultants, contractors, sales, and traffic managers to assure effective delivery of our service.
• Working with the US Operations Manager to coordinate test scheduling and marketing events and, in time of disaster, be willing to deploy as needed in support of Agility’s mobile recovery operations.
REQUIREMENTS
The candidate must have 3-5 years current logistics experience that should include the following: cargo preparation, transportation routing and tracking, and inventory management. Furthermore the candidate must have experience that demonstrates enforcement of safety regulations and procedures. The candidate must have the capacity to supervise forklift operations, overnight and 24 hour courier capabilities, asset tracking, cycle counting, billing, and inventory management. Some project management experience is a plus. Must be familiar with desktop PC operations, inventory management systems and warehouse bin methodologies.
