Logistics Engineer

Ozburn-Hessey Logistics is an energetic, growing logistics provider with over 50 years' experience. Today OHL is ranked as the largest privately held 3PL in the country, providing supply chain management solutions including warehousing, transportation, technology and people. Due to our continued growth we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Logistics Engineer in our Chambersburg, PA facility.

This position works directly with Operations and Business Development to develop logical and profitable operational plans. Assists in benchmarking and process improvement in a high pick pack operation. Assists Operations in facility layout, process design, and material handling improvements.

Engineering duties include facility layouts, material handling design, time studies, and process improvements. The primary role for this position is to support start-ups of new facilities by assisting customers on facility design and material handling layouts. This position requires the knowledge of velocity slotting and implementing optimal pick and pack solutions.

Additional responsibilities include implementing process improvement opportunities with existing business. This role will communicate directly with the operations team on identifying potential cost savings and building project plans for implementation.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public and be PC literate in Microsoft Word, Project, PowerPoint, MS Access and Excel with emphasis on meeting customer metrics. AutoCAD and Visio experience is a plus. Strong written, oral communication, and time management skills and excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills required. Must have strong ability to manage multiple tasks with confidence and influence others, work as part of a team, and act as a catalyst for change.

Minimum educational level:
• Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering

Minimum experience:
• Two years prior working experience
• Prior distribution experience preferred
• Experience with warehouse management systems preferred
