LOGISTICS ANALYST

Logistics Analyst Philadelphia, PA

CROWN is looking for an experienced Logistics Analyst to lead the enhancement of our transportation and warehouse expense information supporting our Logistics organization. As the Logistics Analyst, you will recommend and implement best practice solutions related to our Manugistics TMS, freight payment reporting, and network modeling. Reporting to the Vice President – Logistics, we will rely on you to identify problem expense areas, report on trends from month to month, and provide historical context to transportation costs and service level issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will use your project management expertise to manage monthly reporting and to ensure the operating companies are on track to meet all logistics deliverables. • Ensure the tools and resources are in place to effectively identify issues, track changes, make recommendations, and take action to synchronize negotiated routing guides with TMS load tender and the resulting freight payments. • Coordinate with Regional Transportation Managers, the Crown Fleet Manager, the plants, and the HQ Logistics (TMS) Planners to be sure the reporting is timely and relevant to the company’s cost management strategies. • Facilitate the identification of logistics savings projects with Division leaders and monitor their progress with Finance to self-fund your efforts throughout the budget cycles.

To qualify, the ideal candidate will need a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Information or equivalent work experience, coupled with 5+ years of experience in implementing cross-functional tools, while generating standard reports and adhoc analysis in connection with a major supply chain.

Strong experience and other requirements:

• Supply chain or logistics business knowledge, project management, load tender and freight payment operations, or related consulting skills is necessary. • Solid understanding of supply chain processes, integrated systems, and data manipulation synchronized with IS-defined operating procedures is required, packaging industry experience is preferred. • The Logistics Analyst must also understand and comply with all IS department Sarbanes-Oxley related requirements. • Demonstrated ability to impact, influence, and negotiate with internal and external resources. • Excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills are essential along with proven skills in analysis, trouble-shooting complex delivery networks, and problem-solving. • Experience in data reporting fundamentals for TMS, WMS, Manugistics NwT, MS Access, Powerpoint and Excel is required. • Other PC/Server modeling experience such as Business Objects, Crystal Reports, etc. and an understanding of the linkages of best-in-class systems to ERP is preferred. • General knowledge of financial reporting (P&L / Income Statements, Expense Statements, Balance Sheets, etc.) a plus. • Position requires approximately 10% travel.
