Import Specialist

America's fastest growing furniture retailer has an immediate opening for an Import Specialist. They are based in Denver, Colorado and have been in business for 35 years. Currently operating over 320 stores.

The Import Specialist will act as the company representative and primary import compliance specialist for all U.S. imports out of the Orient. Will work with 30 to 40 different factories. This position will build relationships with trading partners and helps resolve freight problems as they may arise. The factory will notify the Import Specialist when the container is ready to ship. The Import Specialist will follow the process thru the shipping and resolve any issues required. Will follow through port- dealing with billings from customs and steamships verifying that numbers are correct.


Coordinate the procedures for importing to the U.S. from foreign factories using all modes of transportation, (will deal with customs, steamships and trains). Maintains full awareness and knowledge of import customs regulations and compliance procedures related to security. Watches over all aspects of the process. Manages the daily ship-logs from the factory, identifies issues, coordinates with the carries to track and trace delivery to meet on-time delivery. Works with purchasing on import freight items.
