Forest Products Distribution Center Manager

Job Summary:
The Manager of this Forest Products Distribution Center leads a team and facility operations in the wholesale lumber distribution industry. This employee is responsible for daily operations and the annual performance of the staff and the assets at the East Texas Distribution Center.

Job Scope:
This position involves two aspects of management - daily supervision of the sales and operations staff and assets, and planning to improve operations. Specific scope of work for this position includes:
-Continuous improvement of operations and processes
-Daily sales team performance
-Daily yard operations of warehousing, logistics, inventory control and safety
-Purchasing, billing and management information supervision and delegation
-Travel and contact with key customer accounts and unique suppliers
-Year-on-year growth at planned sales and net income levels
-Expansion of market share in the designated territory
-Facility efficiency and image
-Annual planning for capital improvements and budgeting
-Participation in KLC Management Team events

Organization:
This position entails supervision, including hiring, motivation, evaluation, and supervision of the following staff:
-Outside and Inside Sales Leaders
-Yard Superintendent & Trucking Staff
-Administrative/Bookkeeping Staff
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
High level of motivation. Capacity to energize direct reports to attain aggressive goals. Direct experience, or experience as a deputy / assistant across disciplines pertinent to wholesale distribution operations. These disciplines include the management, motivation and leadership of sales and operations personnel. Competencies include inventory, purchasing, sales, planning, budgeting, safety, HR processes. Ability to influence business development and competitive growth are important. Bachelor’s degree in related fields or an additional four years relevant experience required. Direct experience in wholesale lumber operations are additional pluses to the resume. Must be able and willing to travel modestly and interact with our customers. English language communications proficiency is a requirement. Physical capability to visit construction and industrial sites alone and without assistance mandatory. Drug-free compliance mandatory. Licensed and insurable as an auto vehicleoperator mandatory.
