Field Application Engineer:
Position Summary:Primary responsibilities of this individual will be to provide technical support the to sales team and customers. Assist in recommending new products and supporting current products at new and also existing customers. These goals will be achieved through close interaction with the A.E. Petsche Company sales team and product management group.
Duties/Responsibilities:?Engineering and Applications Support – This individual is expected to provide engineering and application support, related to wire harness management in the Aerospace industry, to the A.E. Petsche sales organization. Examples include: Product recommendations for customer applications; Trouble shooting in support of A.E. Petsche sales team; Wire harness and cable design.
?Territory – The Field Application Engineers will have a specified territory, depending upon where they are located. The territory will consist of multiple states and possibly parts of Canada or Mexico depending upon the individuals’ location, and will require travel.?Product Showcases – The Field Application Engineer is expected to provide detailed product examples and provide “Product Showcases” for customers engineering, production and purchasing staffs. Typically showcase are arranged by the sales team. Prior to the meeting date, a specified list of “key” products will be determined and will be focused on during the showcase. This information will be used by sales to track customer interest in new projects or help understand new opportunities/programs at the customer.?Trade Show – A.E. Petsche Company’s Field Application Engineers, will assist in staffing and supporting of trade shows in their territory.?Major Projects – Follow major projects and understand what will help to bring them to a successful conclusion. If a project is lost, share with Product Management Staff the issues or occurrences in order to assure not losing the next opportunity.?Industry Networking – It is expected that the Field Application Engineer will develop and maintain close relationships with all A.E. Petsche Company suppliers. These relationships will require occasional vendor visits and regular interaction with local reps or direct vendor sales people. A.E. Petsche expects its Field Application Engineer to maintain relationships that will allow the company first access to new information on products or vendor issues. Reporting market information that is found while working in the field will also be a very important aspect.

Duties/Responsibilities [cont.]:
?Sales Training – This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining sales training “modules” for new and existing A.E. Petsche employees through interaction with the HR Department, as well as provide hands on training.?Product Support/Recommendations – This individual will be making suggestions to our customers and the A.E.Petsche sales staff, for the best product solutions based upon the application. This individual will also be regularly involved in recommending new products to add to the A. E. Petsche line card. These suggestions will be to fulfill a goal of having the most complete interconnect product line..
?Work closely with other FAE’s – This will be important so one message is heard from The FAE staff, no matter which FAE is working with sales.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:?Familiarity with mechanical and electrical applications?Bachelor’s [Four Year] or Similar Degree (or in school to achieve this degree)
?Existing Industry Contacts/Relationships
?Strong Communication Skills [Written & Interpersonal]
?Willingness to Travel
?Computer Knowledge/Experience
?Willingness to continue to learn new products
