Distribution & Warehouse Manager - Food Manufacturing

Growing food manufacturer is seeking a Warehouse / Distribution Manager to oversee a shipping operation by trucks and rails, including the management of 100+ employees. This facility is a 24/7 shipping/warehousing operation.

Responsibilities:
* Directs overall warehouse operations to store, receive, and ship finished goods in an efficient and cost effective manner.
* Oversees ship unloading by Contract Stevedore company personnel
* Seeks ways to improve department operation and reduce cost through improved material handling procedures. Oversees operation of a highly computerized automated storage/retreival system with its related technical complexity.
* Identifies personnel and organizational problems and plans programs for developing most effective warehouse organization. Improves subordinates' supervisory abilities and evaluates performance. Recommends hiring and firing of personnel.
* Participates actively in matters involving union relations to ensure smooth working relationships and minimizes friction with other unions and in developing unionized supervisory staff.
* Develops ways of improving shipment scheduling, work methods and equipment capability and recommends appropriate action. Assures that preventative and routine maintenance on warehouse equipment is performed.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
* B.S in Business or Logistics preferred or equivalent work experience.
* A minimum of 5 years of warehouse management experience, preferrably in a food / beverage / consumer products environment.
* Experience managing both union and non-union workforce
* Demonstrated ability to improve operations in shipping, receiving, and inventory control
* Knowledge of WMS, RF, and MS Office applications.
