Distribution Engineer

Division: Newell Rubbermaid Corporate Job Description: This position provides the design and engineering of operational solutions in the areas of distribution center management, inventory management, capacity enhancement, routing and shipment optimization, and information management. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analyze existing distribution center layouts and develop design alternatives.

Work closely with operations management to customize process’s to meet cost, productivity and efficiency targets.

Will develop and assist with training personnel on all distribution center processes, SOP’s, etc.

Identify strategic objectives and goals for future distribution center processes and projects (i.e. Receiving, Warehousing, Distribution, Shipping, etc.)

Proactively identifies opportunities for cost savings, works cross-functionally to address concerns and issues and works the resolution of them.

Drive continuous improvement of business processes.

Utilizes benchmarking and best practice information to constantly assess application of new technologies, labor productivity improvements, facilities utilization and business process redesign to drive service, quality and cost improvements.

Bachelor or equivalent degree with a minimum of 7 years experience in Distribution Center Engineering.
Strong project management, data analysis and continuous improvement skills.
Distribution, transportation, warehousing and IT Systems experience

Understanding of how to influence efficiency and cost reduction improvement.

Proven ability to deliver results by working with cross-functional teams.

Computer skills (Microsoft word, access, excel, power point, MS project, Visio).

Implementation experience with WMS/TMS Systems.

Ongoing IT systems management (super user) for Supply Chain Operations.

Strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills.
