Distribution Center Department Manager

Our Area Managers lead and supervise a team of 25-40 hourly associates in a specified department within our Fulfillment Centers.  They are responsible for the over all direction, coordination and evaluation of the department.

 

Responsibilities include training employees: planning, assigning and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; resolving conflicts; process improvement; as well as the development of employees, SOP’s, and productivity within the department on a day to day basis. This is an intermediate level management position, and is fully accountable for the results of the group’s activity.

 

After you prove your performance in an Area Manager role, next career steps for an Area Manager could be to Operations Manager or Operational Excellent Black Belt!

 

This position requires a candidate who has the ability to drive process improvements, keep pace with our growth while motivating others to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of Six Sigma, and as an exceptional level of dedication, motivation and intelligence. Strong oral and written communication skills as well as a strong technical and analytical aptitude are requirements.

 

 
REQUIREMENTS


A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations or a related field is REQUIRED 5-7 years Management experience in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment. Strong commitment to employee development and performance improvement Ability to speak to performance metrics (how, when, who) Candidates must be flexible to work weekends and./or overnight shift
