Distribution Center Associate-60939

Purpose:
Performs tasks associated with the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. Uses established tools, equipment, and technologies required to complete transactions related to outbound processes within a Distribution Center.

?Performs Scanning functions utilizing a symbol to determine the correct product for shipment.
?Selects and picks the correct merchandise.
?Creates and visually verifies the correct license plate (LP) for the correct item and quantity designated for initial sort destination.
?Transports mobile cart throughout designated area and places picked product on cart as an initial sorting of product.
?Transfers completed picked items to the designated drop area.
?Transfers completed drop cart to designated packing drop locations and places sorted merchandise in designated rack location.**
?Prepares small single line items by placing product in appropriate envelope.
?Communicates discrepancies to the appropriate manager or manager’s designate.
?Completes required documentation identifying the discrepancy.
?Complies with OSHA and Hazardous Material requirements in the storage and movement of regulated product.
?Performs necessary housekeeping duties in order to maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment.
?Actively participates in process improvements by utilizing Grainger’s quality system.
?Must be willing and able to operate all power equipment.

?Able to work at various elevated stations located throughout facility.
?Able to follow directions.
?Able to make decisions without constant supervision.
?Able to read numbers and symbols as directed on scanning equipment.
?Able to read and understand shipping documents and labels.
?Able to operate computerized scanning equipment.
?Able to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel on a regular basis.
?Able to push, pull and stretch on a regular basis.
?Able to lift, carry, objects up to 75 pounds.
?Able to meet deadlines and production requirements.
?Able to work in a team environment.
