Dispatch / Management Trainee

Eagle Transport has an immediate opening for Dispatch / Management Trainee in our Delaware City, DE location to supervise and coordinate of the movement of products between the loading terminal(s) and the customer’s facility in the most prompt and efficient manner possible while insuring all procedures and directives of management concerning dispatch and customer service are implemented in a safe and legal manner. Work with 2 other remote dispatch managers, supervising 16 units throughout the Delmarva penninsula.Dispatcher Benefits Include:-Salary of $33,000 to $35,000 per year, contingent on management and/or petroleum experience

-Free Disability and Long-Term Care-401k-Vacation, sick, bereavement, and jury-duty payEssential Duties of Dispatcher Include:• Understand and carry out, to the fullest extent, the decisions, policies, procedures and directives of upper management, as prescribed in the operating policies.• Completely responsible for proper utilization of all personnel and equipment.
• Assist in the Company’s personnel, terminal, and equipment Security Plan.• Insure that all driver personnel do their assigned jobs in a proper and professional manner.• Develop complete knowledge of the area of operation, the customers, and the laws that pertains to the drives and equipment.• Develop complete knowledge of the legal demands placed on the operation of their equipment and drivers.• Assist in the Company’s safety program, including attending monthly safety meetings.• Maintain a high service level and a high level of customer relations.• Coordinate the Company’s preventative maintenance program with the maintenance shop.• Be available to communicate with terminal employees, customers, company management and any other persons who might have business with the Company.• Display proper consideration and concern to and for all drivers.
REQUIREMENTS
• Three to Five years verifiable experience within a similar management environment.• Possess excellent interpersonal & communication skills.• Possess excellent basic math skills.• Possess computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and the ability to learn Eagle Transport’s Inventory Control and Load Planning and Accounting software (AS400-based).• Familiarity with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA and environmental rules, regulations, and guidelines.• Working knowledge of commercial transport vehicles and their components.• The ideal candidate would also possess familiarity with the process of loading and unloading of petroleum products.
