Director of Operations

We currently have an outstanding career opportunity for a highly motivated team player as a Director of Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the distribution activities for our 306,000 sq. ft. facility, located in Cranbury, NJ.

Responsibilities include managing daily production/direction for a three-shift operation. Will manage business for approximately 75 employees including four managers and five supervisors. Interface with local sales team, customers and quality team, manage financial report reviews and month end close, and conduct root cause/preventative action analysis. Guide team members in daily operations to ensure a high degree of safety, service and quality; and ensure proper training and development of all operations personnel. Lead continuous improvement efforts that support annual goals for productivity, service, cost control, and work environment improvements. Also, responsible for general building security and maintenance. The Director of Operations role is critical to the exceptional service Anixter provides to the Company's customers. This highly visible position will have overall responsibility for receiving, inventory control, and shipping departments.
REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for degreed candidates or equivalent work experience and must have a minimum of three years experience within the area of distribution, operations, customer service, or supply chain management. The qualified individual must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. They must also be an excellent coach and mentor, capable of developing a management team for motivating an hourly workforce. Must be willing to work second and thirds when necessary. Ability to relocate in the future is highly desirable as success in this role may lead to other opportunities within the Anixter Distribution Network. Strong presentation and analytical skills are essential. Must also have prior supervisory experience of professional and hourly workforce.
