DPI Rocky Mountain, a premiere specialty foods distributor, is currently seeking a Category Manager to join our team. As one of five divisions in the United States, DPI Rocky Mountain is renowned for superior customer service and exceptional product selection for our customers.

Based in the Denver area, we market an extensive selection of dry, perishable and frozen food products via a company controlled and owned distribution fleet and offer in excess of 14,000 quality grocery related items.

This key management position in our organization will drive the business forward by overseeing all activities related to procurement and negotiation of products, from intent to purchase through delivery of products.

The Category Manager will be responsible for implementing our system of evaluating vendor quotations. It requires appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery and service. The Category Manager will also be identifying opportunities for new items and new vendors for customers and selling DPI marketing programs to vendors in support of DPI monthly promotional guide and other established vehicles.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree and two years experience in wholesale or retail food marketing with an emphasis on managing food chain manufacturing accounts or an equivalent combination of education and experience; strong negotiating, analytical and decision-making skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in MS Office; excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
