Assistant Operations Manager

Due to thriving business my client is seeking several Assistant Operations Management Professionals. The Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for the motivation, training, and leadership of a manufacturing / distribution center production workforce in excess of 250 people. The AOM develops and executes daily and weekly operational plans to meet and exceed customer service requirements, while maximizing the quality, through-put, and productivity of the facility. This position is responsible for all production functions for a specific shift. In the absence of the Operations Manager, the AOM is responsible for all employees present. This position is a development position for Operations Manager to support the long-term growth of the company. As such, the willingness and ability to relocate will be an important consideration for placement/promotion in this position. Finally, the AOM is expected to demonstrate flexibility with regard to working both a.m. and p.m. shifts, as well as weekends, where necessary and applicable.
REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to the following…
1. Execute daily production plans that meet or exceed customer service level expectations while achieving maximum operating efficiency.
2. Develop and implement short- and long-range staffing plans based on productivity objectives and forecasted volume requirements.
3. Daily balancing of labor availability and volume requirements throughout the facility.
4. Recruit, hire, train, develop, and retain an effective shift management team.
5. Partnering with HR, to develop, implement, and measure effectiveness of employee training programs.
6. Ensure all safety policies and procedures are implemented and observed, and that equipment, and work areas are neat, clean and well organized.
7. Develop, analyze, and recommend strategic and tactical operational and systemic improvements to meet current and future service, through-put

4. Must currently be working as a Production Supervisor within a distribution or manufacturing facility with a minimum of 4 years of stable work experience.
5. 4-year college degree preferred.
