XML Developer

Position Description:

Analyze, design and implement XML schema solutions and XML transformations to facilitate the consumption of data files into a proprietary communications system. Enhance and maintain current XML schema and XML transformations utilized in the communication between multiple internal systems.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze the software requirements and research and develop solutions. Follow sound development practices and IT lifecycle methodology and information systems development in the enterprise environment. Excellent understanding of complex systems architectures.

- Development responsibilities include: Design and develop XML schema and XML transformations, implement necessary business logic to interface with middle-tier business layer. Work with System Architect and Technical Leads.

- Work with the Test and Support groups to validate the developed solution and deployment logistics.

- Work with Project Managers to deliver features on time and within budget.

- Update or write technical documentation as necessary to document the developed solution.

Candidates will be responsible for overall design and development of applications under deadline pressure following development standards. Communicate standards and defend technology and scoping decisions to information technology management and development teams. Able to proactively identify issues and coordinate resolutions. Must possess software engineering process expertise.

Specific job skills:

- Expert knowledge of XML Schemas design
- Expert knowledge of XSLT
- Knowledge of XSL-FO and SVG a plus
- Minimum of 2 years of XML development experience
- Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture
- Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming and Design principles
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret relational data models
- Good working knowledge of distributed application architectures
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required
- Self-motivated and creative, passionate and agile
- Knowledge of .Net technologies a plus
