The benefits of working at Capital include interesting work, exceptional colleagues, a comfortable workplace, competitive salaries and bonuses, and health and life benefits from day one.Position Description: Experienced Web Hosting Engineer to coordinate and support the deployment, maintenance, and administration of web technology components used for public-facing websites at our IDC's (Internet Data Centers). Fast-paced environment requiring ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and projects. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, website owners, and other technology administration teams. Strong troubleshooting skills are essential. Thorough understanding of browser access, HTML code, communications protocols, and TCP/IP concepts required.

Primary Responsibilities: Implementation of new web-based services, planning for disaster recovery, monitoring the performance of deployed components, coordinating with external vendors and internal web hosting users, providing infrastructure support in administration of web-based components such as browsers, web servers, and specialty servers (real audio, search, etc). Provide coordination and support for website monitoring, security, load balancing, network connectivity, utilization reporting, and content management. Assist in providing technical direction in the use of web-based technologies. Evaluate potential technologies and provide recommendations on security components, server hardware, web server software, web appliances, utilities, etc in the web hosting environment. 24 x 7 coordination of support for the IDC's.

Qualifications

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to create and maintain positive and professional business relationship with both internal associates and external customers

Must be able to work effectively in a team environment

Knowledge of the financial industry preferred

Computer Science degree highly preferred

Experience Required:

Minimum 3 years experience in Web administration and Web Technical support including web servers (Sun One / Apache), application servers (Weblogic / Websphere), and UNIX OS (Solaris preferred).

Solid understanding of TCP/IP, Network Routing, and different types of network traffic (TCP, UDP, FTP, etc) required. Working knowledge of content management systems such as Open Market or Documentum and Source Control Management systems such as Clear Case / Clear Quest.

Solid understanding of J2EE-based applications accessing large databases such as Sybase, Oracle, etc.

Knowledge of application server concepts including application server clustering.

Working knowledge in deploying, administering, and troubleshooting security and network components including Firewalls, Cisco Routers and Switches, Load Balancers, and VPN's.

Working knowledge of Security monitoring and IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems).

Strong verbal and written communication skills including ability to develop quality documentation such as presentations, implementation plans, project proposals, project plans, operational procedures, etc.

Experience Desired:

Experience managing Security monitoring and Intrusion Detection components.

Experience deploying and administering content management and content caching solutions.

Experience deploying and administering LAN/WAN and Firewall components.

Skills Required:

Proficient in Website administration, UNIX administration, & Network Diagnostic Tools, Network and application protocols including HTTP, HTTPS, TCP/IP, FTP, UDP, Media Services, etc.

Solid understanding of networks including switch connectivity, routing, VPN's, VLAN's, etc.

Ability to quickly isolate and identify problems in a complex web environment.

Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies rapidly.

High level of initiative and ability to work independently and within larger teams.

Customer focused and effective communicator both verbally and in writing.

Skills Desired:

Firewall administration, Oracle database administration
