Web Site Engineer

Job Summary

The Fool Wants You!!! Our MIS department is looking for a great recruit… bright, happy, customer-oriented techie with the passion to be responsible for maintaining and implementing our Foolish web servers as well as related Active Directory infrastructures, and making sure that the Fool Web site is performing optimally.
Primary Responsibilities/Objectives

* Maintain / monitor all aspects of the web site (100% uptime, performance, security), including IIS web servers, SQL, and application servers
* Troubleshoot problems (TCP/IP, connectivity, hardware, etc.)
* Test, recommend & implement new software / hardware products
* Upgrade and patch existing software / hardware
* Work with development staff to help with launch and support of all software used on the web site
* Configure, secure, and administrate Active Directory
* Assist with Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 administration
* Deploy and manage anti-spam and anti-virus tools
* Respond to problems quickly and professionally in an on-call 24/7 environment
REQUIREMENTS
Core Competencies

* In-depth knowledge of Windows 2000 and 2003 (server & enterprise server)
* In-depth knowledge of Microsoft IIS version 6.0
* Knowledge of clustering technologies (MS Cluster Server preferred)
* Practical knowledge of TCP/IP (subnetting and VLANs)
* Conceptual understanding of DNS server definitions (MX records, round-robin resolution, reverse lookups)
* Working knowledge of performance monitoring / tuning
* Working knowledge of network monitoring (metrics, added-value)
* Experience with Active Directory group policy
* Working knowledge of UNIX based operating systems (Linux, BSD, Solaris)
* Hardware troubleshooting expertise
* Helpful if candidate can create shell / batch scripts where needed

Education and Job Knowledge

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
