Web Programmer/Analyst
ACT has an opening in Iowa City for a Programmer/Analyst to participate with a team to design, analyze, test, and implement software systems. ACT, Inc. is a not-for-profit, internationally recognized leader in assessment and information products and services whose culture values work/life balance. Typical work-related activities include:
Develop, enhance, and revise software for various ACT products.Assist in systems analysis.Write code to implement new software design and programs.Provide maintenance, enhancements, and support of existing programs.Act as liaison between technical support staff and users regarding system issues.Communicate with end users regarding program requirements, design, and technical support.Work with software quality assurance staff for system testing.Assist with quality control of software systems.Exercise discretion and independent judgment in making decisions regarding programs and services.Keep abreast with new technologies and techniques; evaluate and recommend new development tools to team leader; assist in development and review of system documentation tests.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related area; and 1-2 years of web programming experience including Java and/or J2EE; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer experience with OOD, UML, Struts, and Oracle.
