Web Portal Manager

Classification: Full Time Compensation: $90000 to $100000 per year The Manager of Web Development position plays a key role in the requirements definition, application design and programming necessary to deliver Best in Class websites and portals. Leads the team in the achieving the overall web/portal strategy for Best in Class web presence in North America. Review customer development requirements and offer suggested modifications that align with our Best in Class web development strategy. Develop the appropriate code that meets the customer's requirements.
Perform testing prior to production deployment. Develop technical documentation for written code. Work with users to resolve acceptance testing issues working within the defined quality parameters defined by the customer.
Assist in the successful promotion of code to production. Reviews work of other junior developers. Managing a development team of 5+ direct reports, including quarterly goal setting and assessments, performance reviews, compensation, career planning and recruiting new talent as required to manage varying work load.Responsible for the successful development, implementation, deployment, and roll out of web content projects including site launches, help projects and new features for website.
Bachelors in Computer Science or other relevant degree experience, or equivalent2+ years proven leadership experience managing development engineers; track record of delivering web-based applications on a frequent release timeline.Strong development and design experience including hands on knowledge of key web development technologies such as JavaScript, XSL, CSS, XML, HTML and XHTML.
Nice to have skills include:8 or more years of IT experience as a designer, developer, Architect project Leader.
5 or more Yrs of Bea Weblogic Portal 7.x/8.x and Workshop. 10 Yrs of hands on experience on Java, J2ee/EJB, JSP/ Servlets or similar technologies.
Should have worked on different application server such as IBM web sphere, Orion server, Oracle application server. Experience using different IDE's such as Visual Café, Jbuilder and JDeveloper etc.
