Web Page Developer

Our client is looking for a Web Developer to work on a 6 month contract to permanent assignment in their Center City location. The client offers excellent benefits to qualified candidates.Responsible for design, development, and ongoing maintenance of a web-based diabetes management product, integrating clinical and educational diabetes management resources of the client, and participating in the development of other related software applications. Will work in conjunction with all participating software development and deployment areas to produce a solution that is compatible with the existing architecture and technical strategy.a) Plays lead role in a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the development of the integrated product integrating clinical and educational diabetes management resources for the Diabetes Initiative Grant.
b) Responsible for ensuring that the implementation of the integrated product is compatible with the existing architecture and technical strategy as well as any standards to which the client is committed to adhering.c) Coordinates cross-departmental, cross divisional efforts (with the Portal Editor, the Editorial Production and Self-Assessment Programs editorial teams, etc.) to design, develop, deploy, and support the tools necessary for the coding and processing of content.d) Responsible for building and maintaining working relationships with other departments/divisions as necessary to ensure synchronization of all efforts related to the integrated product, including the web development team.
e) Researches, specifies, configures, customizes, and administers system software as necessary. Works with IS in specifying hardware, capacity, and contingency planning.
f) Serves as lead for all technical support efforts related to the integrated product, including direct user support, if necessary.
g) Designs and executes test plans as needed.
h) Assists with development, implementation, and evaluation of software documentation and help systems.
i) Assists in developing required management reports.
j) Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. Some knowledge and experience leading small teams (and working individually) throughout the software development process, with emphasis on web architectures and development, is required. Knowledge and experience with XML-based, content-rich web applications with moderately large user base is also highly desirable. Candidates should exhibit broad experience with multiple languages, web servers, and environments, but with emphasis in rich client technologies such as AJAX (Javascript, CSS, XML, and XSLT) and Adobe Flash.This individual will be responsible for leading development efforts and, as such, will need skills required to lead a team of both development-oriented and production-oriented individuals (possibly including contract developers) to successful delivery of the integrated product.
