Web Infrastructure Engineer
An enterprise level systems engineer position with a focus on J2EE/Web technologies from an installation, configuration, administration, and security perspective. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in all aspects of designing and supporting a web infrastructure, including hardware, base operating systems and the application layer.
* Design and implement web infrastructure solutions in both a Linux and Microsoft Windows Application environment. Demonstrate expertise in a variety of network and security systems concepts, practices, and procedures as they relate to web technologies.
* Work with application development team to design and implement J2EE Web platforms/solutions using products such as IBM Websphere, Apache HTTP Server, Jboss and Tomcat, Microsoft IIS, and similar technologies running on Red Hat Linux and Microsoft Windows platforms.
* Manage the implementation and integration of Web applications and back-end services. Provide as-needed assistance with hands-on web application integration.
* Ensure continually high security standards for all web infrastructure systems and services. Work closely with peers to perform testing and validation of all Web-related security, including web servers, applications, and base operating systems.
* Take ownership of web monitoring tools (e.g.Web Trends, Web Partner) and the relationship with our monitoring service organization(s) to provide accurate data around uptime and site metrics and to proactively monitor and respond to failures that occur in any tier relating to our web-based systems.
* Administer the back end processes necessary to ensure the health and maintenance of our web-based systems.
* Develop standards and written policies and procedures governing our web environments.
REQUIREMENTS
* B.S. Degree or equivalent work experience
* 3+years experience in medium to large web services environment
* Experience in IBM Websphere environment, including installation, configuration and tuning
* Experience with the Websphere Commerce and Portal products is preferred with IBM Websphere
* Experience with web-standard technologies such as Apache HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat, Microsoft IIS, MySQL database
* Experience with Java programming development
* Experience with Perl, HTML, ASP, PHP, or similar web-related programming and scripting languages
