Web Director

Job Description:Responsible for managing the development, enhancement, and maintenance of the business presence on the web.Works with the management and web development partner firm to ensure web site(s) meet business, marketing, and technical objectives.Oversees ongoing enhancements to public web site, intranet, and call center reps' desktop applications.Work with management team to develop web strategy and development plan focused on launching business and reaching sales goals.
Drive creation of business and functional requirements for initial development of - and ongoing enhancements to - intranet and public web sites.
Work with project management to oversee the planning, development, testing, launch, and maintenance of web sites.
Negotiate, secure, and manage partnerships in the areas of content management & licensing, planning tools, e-markeing & CRM programs, and transaction processing.
Work closely with third party web development firm to drive decisions around design, user experience, functionality and other areas in the development and enhancement of web sites.
Partner with other IT personnel to integrate web site with existing systems and ensure compliance with technology and security standards, as well as legal requirements.Coordinate with marketing to plan and execute customer acquisition strategies and e-marketing campaigns.
Coordinate with sales and customer service to plan and execute enhancements to call center desktop, contact management, and CRM applications.
Update management team on web projects, traffic, and enhancement plans; proactively generate and communicate innovative ideas for constantly improving the web user experience.
REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills:Bachelors degree in a business or IT related field required.Minimum 5 years experience in e-commerce web design and production, preferably in the investment or life insurance industries.Knowledge of information architecture and usability required.Knowledge of HTML, Flash, and database applications preferred.Experience with MS Office required.Self-starter with proven experience interacting with management.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Team player with an innovative approach to solving problems.Proven experience in successfully managing the development and launch of major e-commerce web sites.Flexible, team-oriented approach with experience/comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment.Helpful skills would be Java and J2EE. In addition knowledge of database applications, including Oracle, DB2 and SQL Server would be beneficial.
