OBJECTIVE
Looking for a senior Web Programmer/Web Programmer to join the internet/e-commerce group. The web programmer is responsible for the programming aspects of our website, including all database driven web pages written in embedded Perl and PHP, as well as front end programming in JavaScript and database programming in SQL.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The web programmer will Work with existing team to build and maintain database driven websites in PHP
The Web Programmer will maintain existing Perl website and assist in its conversion to PHP
The Web Programmer will design and implement improvements to user experience of very busy teen oriented website

Familiarity with Unix mandatory
Familiarity with XSLT a big plus
SQL experience mandatory, MySQL experience a plus
Large scale website programming experiences a plus

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
Senior Web Programmer
Work with existing team to build and maintain database driven websites
Work with Editors and site designers to design new portions of web site
Program in PHP and JavaScript /Ajax to implement designs
Design relational databases and PHP/Perl APIs to those databases
Provide support and training to other members of the technology team
Work with system administrator to ensure optimal performance of site
Maintain existing Perl website, and assist in its conversion to PHP
Keep existing website content up-to-date
Program in Perl to fix problems with existing website prior to conversion
Design Relational databases to replace current databases
Design PHP replacement functionality to existing Perl code
Design and implement improvements to user experience of very busy teen oriented website
Collaborate with editors and designers to produce the front-end of their projects
Make recommendations to web editor to improve the user interface of the site

What's RequiredBachelor's Degree.
Familiarity with UNIX is mandatory.
Previous experience hand-coding HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and DHTML mandatory.
Experience with CSS layout (non table-based layout).
At least 1 year's experience templating and producing HTML pages for a large, content-heavy website.
Working knowledge of Perl, Embperl, MySQL, DBI, and shell-scripting.
Design sensibilities a plus.
Previous experience with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
