This position plays a critical role in providing high service levels and a stable application server environment at PwC. Responsibilities include the maintenance and support of web and application servers including:Web systems support
Performs all aspects of customer support and escalation by responding to support requests from Client Service staff, IFS, and US IT. This includes resolving tickets escalated to team, conduct proper handoff to other teams when warranted, interact with customers to resolve issue, respond to walk up requests, resolve issues forwarded by management.
Defines common processes and procedures for the use of WebLogic Install, configure and administer BEA WebLogic Server 6.x, 7.x, 8.x on Solaris including multiple server instances and clusters, JDBC drivers, messaging and mail interfaces.
Understand various types of application packages including JAR, WAR and EAR files a plus
Implements patches, updates, and fixes as suggested by external vendors and Risk Management
Liaisons with Development Services and to address issues related to the infrastructure
Develops utilities to automate repetitive tasks
Administer Domino ND6.x Server
Administer Sametime servers
Administer Quickplace servers
Administer Blackberry servers
Liaisons with Systems Services to deploy upgrades and new products to the infrastructure
Liaisons with Systems Services to give requirements needed for the infrastructure
Defines thresholds for monitoring various metrics of the application and works to implement monitoring
Responds to alerts that are generated, performs corrective action as necessary
Continues to refine/update utilities that have been developed to automate repetitive tasks
Applies application patches, updates, and fixes as suggested by external vendors and as required by the business
Updates system documentation including SOPs
Enforcement of standards and best practices PWC application vendor specific.
On call support (24x7 Pager support)

REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirement:
Four year degree in any business/ technical area or equivalent experience is
preferred and four plus years relevant work experience.Essential Requirements:
Unique Aspects of the Position, Specialized Knowledge or SkillsShould have at least 3 years IT experience in one or more large organizations,
specializing in technical support of web and application systems.
Should have good general technical understanding of web and app systems
Should have worked in an IT support group in the last few years
Should be able to interface to customers - to development groups, to support
the integration of their application
Experience of working with other countries and/or global technology groups
would be a plus
Apache Web Server experience
Microsoft IIS Web Server experience
Netegrity’s SiteMinder experience
Citrix Experience
Netgenesis Experience
Must have basic unix and Microsoft server skills. Must understand principles of
Enterprise Directories - highly beneficial to have iPlanet and/or Critical Path
experience.
Experience on WebLogic server/cluster administration
Experience with J2EE technologies including JSP, Servlet, EJB, JMS, JDBC and
JNDI. a plus
Prior technical experience supporting Oracle-based applications either as a
developer or a application administrator
Experience with other web/application servers
Use of enterprise tools for backup, recovery, monitoring (2 years)
Familiarity with Web server concepts and architecture
Lotus Notes R5.x + Server technologies
