This position’s responsibilities include:
The position will be team member of the Managed/Security Service Provider team in the Network Operations Center of the ITS-TS-Network Services division.
Duties for this position include the service support /delivery of the highly technical ITS WAN and security infrastructure and services in incident management, problem management, configuration management, change management, release management, availability management, capacity management, security vulnerability management, IT service continuity and customer consultation.
Responsible for risk assessments to determine critical areas to be addressed and oversee plans to address those risks.
Act as a consultant to management in the review of policies, operations, controls, system development, and data communications.
Participate on project teams focusing on network and security infrastructure systems to ensure information technology information issues are addressed.
High level troubleshooting of highly technical and complex security and wide area network systems.
Significant knowledge of advanced data and security infrastructure. REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge and experience with WANs/LANs, routers, firewalls, VPNs, client/server technology, encryption, PKI and other security technologies.
Demonstrated technical abilities of network performance and security problems.
A proven record for the implementation of changes and additions including firewall policy administration, network security vulnerabilities and analyzing network security problems to determine and implement approved solutions.
Demonstrated ability to prepare architectural technical specifications, design drawings, to develop solutions and resolve operation problems impacting implementation.
Provide client consultation to determine needs and requirements for providing advanced, compliant security solutions complete with quotations and SLA terms and conditions ensuring compliance with applicable information security laws, regulations, policies and standards.
Thorough understanding of multi-tiered SLA management, TCP/IP addressing, and subnet masking.
ITIL Foundation Certification a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, both verbal and written, skills and the ability to work with other technical personnel.
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in electronics, telecommunications, engineering, or a closely related field. .
