Valve Design Engineer

My client is looking to add a Valve Design Engineer to their staff that will create and maintain engineering drawings and solid models using standard programs. You will support R&D programs by performing engineering design evaluations, rapid prototyping, tooling and testing. The engineer will assist with new product startups and support quality with existing products.

You will also have the following responsibilities...

Create detailed engineering drawings and solid models using Solid Works and AutoCAD programming.
Coordinate part designs, prototypes and tooling, supervise tool building and testing.
Perform engineering design evaluations; recommend alterations to improve quality of product/procedures.
Ensure new products are successfully transferred from development stage to production with focus on cost efficiency and yields.
Evaluate existing products against specifications.
Provide test specification criteria and support to quality.
Supervise corrections to, and document and maintain revision of drawings.
Provide technical support and problem solving assistance to manufacturing and other functions.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be a degreed Mechanical Engineer.
Minimum 5 years of experience in plastic injection molding, metal stamping and forming for high volume consumer products.
Familiar with standard engineering concepts, practices and procedures.
Experienced in working with cross-functional teams.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to technical/engineering personnel and non-technical personnel.
Ability to work effectively with personnel in other functional areas.
Must be computer literate and be familiar with standard programs such as word processing, spreadsheets and knowledgeable in computer aided design software.
Must be familiar with or capable of working with corporate computer systems.
Ability to interface with customers.
Willing to travel.
