Our client is a well known and well established company in the Princeton, NJ area. They require the skills of a UED for a ONE YEAR contract engagement.

The candidate filling this position will join a team responsible for designing the user experience of a core, web-based application. Many system components and workflows will be designed from scratch allowing a high degree of creativity and latitude. The project will employ a user-centered design approach that is well accepted throughout the organization and project team. UCD techniques such as contextual inquiry, user interviews, and paper-based usability testing will be used throughout the project to complement a series of iterative design cycles. The main deliverable from this team will be a set of medium fidelity wireframes that describe navigational structures, page layout, information architecture, functionality, and interaction flow.


High level of understanding and experience implementing core user-centered design techniques

Ability to comprehend complex sets of requirements and translate them into a highly usable and elegant design

Experience developing large sets of wireframes that clearly and consistently convey page layout and functionality

Good understanding of Web design patterns including those relevant for use with AJAX (asynchronous JavaScript and XML)

Ability to productively collaborate with stakeholders, end users, business analysts, graphic artists, and programmers

Basic understanding of programming, databases, HTML, CSS, and AJAX

Excellent written and oral communication skills

MindJet MindManager (ability to quickly learn and utilize)

The candidate should have a bachelors or masters degree in a UI-related field (i.e. Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology or Human Computer Interaction), or an equivalent compendium of work experience.
